30th Wedding Anniversary Party!

My parents just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. My cousin, sister and myself threw them a surprise party at a local restaurant/brewery. Here are some decoration ideas we did:

1. Chalkboard frame with a timeline of special events in their marriage

2. Chalkboard wine bottle with "30" written on it. At the party guest wrote a special message on the bottle for my parents to keep 

3. For pictures I used a picture frame that I again spray painted with chalkboard paint and wrote "30" on it.

4. Gift Favors: I had DippStixxSweetShop make Oreo Pops for gift favors. They were delicious. I also made chocolate molds as additional gift favors.

5. My cousin Kristin made a beautiful cake with With Wine Shaped Cake Top with Wedding Picture of my parents. It was perfect for our wine themed party.

Reuse Glass Jars

Making a homemade pizza? Save the pizza sauce jar and reuse!

Simply take off the label and scrub off the glue. I use goo gone to get the sticky glue off of the jar.

Next I used chalk spray paint to paint the lid.

I am using my jar for some chamomile tea bags. I wrote with chalk on the top to remember what is inside!

Here is another way I used my glass jar! I used it for those delicious Cadbury mini eggs. I spray painted the lid a light blue for easter and filled them with the Easter Cadbury mini eggs. 

Why I love Ebates!

Besides getting cash back for making purchases through ebates you can also get coupon codes! For instance I was recently booking a hotel for our Denver trip and of course went through the ebates site to get my cash back. I found my hotel through hotels.com. When I went through ebates it gave me a 10% off coupon code for my hotels.com reservation!

*Ebates gives me a percentage of my purchase for going through their site. For example if I buy a $50 item at Target and go through Ebates with a 2% cash back I will get $1. A dollar may not seem like a lot but it adds up especially if you buy a high dollar item. Ebates pays you about twice a year by check or through Paypal. DIY Coaster

DIY Coaster

This project is easy and cheap! 

Materials: 

 Lowes: Almond Agora tiles

Letter Stencil

Black Acrylic Paint

PaintBrush

Protect Your floor Felt stickers

1. Put four felt stickers on the bottom of each tile. 

2. Place the stencil on the location you want and paint in with the black acrylic paint. 

You can make your coaster as fancy or simple as you would like. I like the letter initials so each member of our household has their own coaster! 

3. Wrap a ribbon around the coaster and give them as a present. Or you can always keep them for yourself! :)

I used an old frame of mine. I took out the back and glass. I sprayed white spray paint on the frame. I left some of the brown show through to give it a distressed look. Next I put a lace ribbon across the back of picture frame. I stapled the ribbon on the frame. Last place your favorite earnings on the ribbon and that is it!

Materials:

Wooden Letter Intial

Twine

Ribbon

Felt Flowers

Hot Glue Gun

1. Wrap Twine around initial, hot glue twine as you go to make sure it sticks.

2. Make a bow and hot glue it on the corner and hot glue the felt flower underneath the bow

3. Hot glue the ribbon to the back of the letter to hang it

4. Hang it on your front door!
