DIY Wood Floors

We finally finished our bamboo wood floors. Here is the finished product.

DIY is way cheaper than paying someone to install for you. If you and/or your spouse are handy, get dirty and put some hard labor of love into your house.

We choose bamboo flooring because it was less expensive than hard wood yet looks just as great! First we priced all types of flooring at Lowes, Home Depot and Liquid Lumber Liquidators. We finally decided we liked the flooring choices/prices best at Home Depot. The flooring we choose was a hand scrapped bamboo cafe flooring at Home Depot. The color is perfect for a dining room as it is a rich elegant color. When it came time to purchase the wood I made sure we bought all of the supplies at once because I had a Lowes 10% off coupon, which Home Depot honors. This 10% off was very helpful in maintaing our budget for the flooring.

This was the dining room before the remodel with carpet and dark purple walls.

TGIF rewards card: I love my TGIF rewards card. With your TGIF rewards card you receive free chips n salsa with every meal. Just place your card on the table where the waiter/waitress can see. Lean Cuisine: Most every lean cuisine entry has a code on the inside. Enter this code with delicious rewards, save up your points and redeem your points from their catalog. Take their survey every month for additional points too. I have redeemed my points for lunch boxes, bird salt and pepper shakers, Bird Bottle Stopper and Red Trivet.

Right now Lean Cuisine is running a promotion if you enter in 20 codes you will get a free lunch bag without deducting any points. You get to keep the 20 code points for another item in their catalog. Promotion ends March 31st so make sure you enter all codes before then! Click here to sign up.

Save your coke caps and boxes to enter in the codes inside on mycokerewards.com. Once you get enough points you can redeem for your points for a reward such as a magazine subscriptions, shutterfly or snapfish prints, photo albums, photo gifts, gift cards, or Coke apparel. I personally like to get the Personalized and Photo rewards! I have redemmed my points for Shutterfly photo books, 12 x 12 canvas, 11 x14 print, magnets, etc. Some months I get free stuff just for entering in my points.
